3 Things I Wish People Knew About Peels
All month long, we've been talking about peels. I'm a firm believer in peels and the amazing results they deliver. Some of this has been written in previous blogs, but this needs to be repeated as I keep getting the same questions. So, let's give a quick breakdown of 3 things I wish people knew about peels.
- You will not leave with red skin.
- They don't all hurt.
- Not everyone peels.
In my 10 years in this industry, I have yet to see one person leave a peel red faced and swollen. Those peels that make you look like you have hamburger face are only available at a doctor's office as they work on the deep internal layers of the skin. The peels I offer always leave you with glowing and tightened skin. No one ever leaves red.
90% of the peels I offer do not hurt. In fact, most people aren't eligible to receive my most aggressive peel right off the bat. That peel requires preparation so that your skin will have the most effective results and, since your skin is in the optimal condition, you will experience mild to moderate discomfort at the most. I have tools at my disposal to minimize that discomfort should you feel any.
Lastly, not everyone peels. Depending on the health of your skin, peeling may or may not happen for you, even with our most aggressive peel. Keep in mind that just because you don't peel, does not mean that the peel did not work. Its like medication with a warning label that says, " May cause drowsiness." Just because you don't get drowsy does not mean the medication does not work. Same goes with peels. Peeling is a side effect, not the end result we are looking for.
So, of the peels that we offer here at 10K Skin Studio, only two will result in peeling, one may be uncomfortable, and none of them will leave you with red skin.
Be sure to visit us for our Peel Party on July, 30. We'd love to give you glowing skin!
